About Matrix

Matrix is a pattern reasoning puzzle. A 3 by 3 grid of pictures follows rules row by row, and you pick the piece that completes the last row.

Each feature has its own rule: the shape, how many there are, and whether they are filled or outlined. It is the same kind of puzzle used in matrix reasoning tests.

Tips for a higher score

  • Look at one feature at a time across a row.
  • Check your rule on the first two rows before applying it to the third.
  • Rule out answers that break even one feature.
